The Reunion island, former "Bourbon Island", is located 10 000 km of France (10:30 airplane), in the Indian Ocean between Madagascar (700 km west) and Mauritius island (200 km east), with an area of  2512 km ²  it is part of the Mascarene archipelago, presents a very tormented relief (three circuses : Mafate, Salazie, Cilaos) and a volcano (the Piton de la Fournaise) still active; Its highest point is the Piton des Neiges (3 071 m).
